[ MLS Zone 20 ] Beginning on the western edge of Carytown and extending to the Henrico County Line, the Near West End is comprised of a series of largely interconnected neighborhoods…Windsor Farms, Glenburnie, Hampton Gardens, Hillcrest and Stonewall Court…to name a few.  Some of the highest property values in the Metro can be found in the area, especially along the Cary Street corridor.  The majority of homes in the area were built in the period of 1920-1950. Interestingly, some pockets of modern architecture exist in the area dramatically departing from the traditional building styles common during the period most Near West End homes were built.

The shops and restaurants along Libbie Avenue provide a large portion of the retail services for the area with upscale boutiques and restaurants.  Several of the area’s oldest private schools also are located in the corridor.  The University of Richmond and The County Club of Virginia are located on the western edge of the City/Near West End and provide a visually powerful and wealthy anchor for the area.
